Membership in a credit union like Proponent is a valuable benefit that companies can offer their staff - but first a company must be a Select Employer Group (SEG). This is because of the way Proponent is chartered.
Becoming a Proponent SEG is quick, simple, and will cost your company nothing. But it will allow you to offer the benefits of membership to your employees - like a wide range of banking products, better rates on loans and deposits, and a higher degree of personal service. What's more, it's a benefit that your employees can have for life, and even share with their family members.
To become a Proponent SEG, you must submit a Letter of intent and sign our standard Benefit Agreement. We will even prepare these documents for you when you complete the online form linked below or call 800 457 8058 option 3 (opt. 4 for NC).
Once your paperwork has been signed and returned to Proponent, it has to be approved by our board and the federal agency that oversees credit unions. Once you're approved, a Proponent Representative can visit your office to conduct an orientation session that will explain all the benefits of becoming a Proponent member to your staff.
